Design is both a cultural and economic factor of our society. Design strategies strengthen businesses and help to break down communication barriers in international markets. Consumers are increasingly interested in the auxiliary aspects of products they are offered. Not least, design also has a social role to play because good design is people-oriented.
Since its foundation 40 years ago, the IDZ | International Design Centre Berlin has seen itself as a communication platform between industry, society and culture and is dedicated to exploring topical issues around design. By means of projects, exhibitions and events, the IDZ focuses on the main areas of design. Social, economic, ecological and aesthetic aspects are part of the IDZ’s engagement, with the aim of promoting the work of designers and increasing awareness of design amongst consumers and businesses. Because of its membership structure and international orientation, the IDZ also represents a competence network for the creative and design industry.
IDZ Design Partner GmbH was founded in 2003. In close cooperation with the International Design Centre Berlin, it deals with all economic activities and services in the areas of design management, consulting, networking, events and the organisation of design-related exhibitions.
